Abstract

This study analyzes the effectiveness of financial technology (FinTech) in improving farmers' access to capital in Mranggen District. The research used a mixed-method descriptive-explanatory design through structured surveys of 75 farmers, in-depth interviews with 12 key informants, field observation, and document review. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, an effectiveness index, and qualitative interpretation. The findings show that FinTech is relatively effective in simplifying procedures and accelerating disbursement, particularly for seasonal working-capital needs. However, its effectiveness remains uneven because cost transparency, security, legality, financial literacy, digital literacy, and farmer-group support continue to shape farmers' decisions. The study proposes a collaborative model involving local government, agricultural extension workers, farmer groups, cooperatives, formal financial institutions, and licensed FinTech providers to strengthen education, mentoring, consumer protection, farm-recording, and complaint mechanisms.
