Abstract

Digital transformation in agriculture has accelerated the adoption of Smart Farming and big data technologies to improve efficiency, productivity, and competitiveness in horticultural agribusiness. This study aims to analyze the utilization of big data-based Smart Farming in strawberry agribusiness at Lumbung Stroberi Sarangan, Ngerong Village, Magetan Regency. A descriptive qualitative approach supported by a digital readiness index was employed. Data were collected through field observations, semi-structured interviews, document analysis, and questionnaires involving farm managers, cultivation workers, marketing personnel, local stakeholders, and consumers. Data analysis was conducted through data reduction, thematic coding, source triangulation, digital readiness assessment, and SWOT analysis. The results indicate that Smart Farming practices have been implemented through digital communication, production recording, crop documentation, and social media-based marketing. However, the integration of big data remains limited due to fragmented data storage, the absence of standardized recording systems, and the lack of analytical dashboards. The digital readiness index achieved an average score of 2.44 (moderate), with the highest score in digital device availability (2.88) and the lowest score in institutional support and data governance (2.10). The study recommends strengthening data governance, improving digital literacy, integrating environmental sensors, and developing data-driven dashboards to support sustainable decision-making in strawberry agribusiness.
